xml-record-missing-id (XML004)

A <record> or <menuitem> has no id.

What it does

Reports <record> and <menuitem> elements without an id.

Why is this bad?

A record without an XML id is created again on every module update, and nothing else can refer to it. Give it a unique id to create a record, or an existing one to update it.
